WESTERWELLE ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME EAST AFRICA: 2023
This was an internal meeting for the Westerwelle Foundation startups based in Rwanda and Tanzania. The main goal of the ecosystem tour is to enhance cross-border market opportunities for young tech enterprises in Rwanda and Tanzania who are part of the Westerwelle foundation programme. The tour aims to facilitate knowledge sharing, understand current and planned fiscal policies towards trade integration and build strong collaborations between startups, investors, corporates and ecosystem players.
The Movazi event platform hosted the Westetwelle Rwanda and Tanzania Ecosystem tour on the 23rd March 2023. In totally it attracted 93 participants from 19 investors, 30 startups from Rwanda and Tanzania, other government institutions and stakeholders in the ecosystem.
❏ The ecosystem was preceded by a panel discussion that encouraged the startups to keep pushing and expand to various markets. As there is no idea that lacks a customer so in the era of technology they need to keep inventing and exploring. They reiterated their commitment in supporting startups in various capacity and invited startups to opportunities like the innovation fund by the Ministry of ICT- Rwanda.
❏ Later the startups visited the virtual booths / lounges of the investors where they were able to pitch to the various investors and connect with fellow startups.
